From Guatapé we took a dirt road towards Puerto Nare, and a boat over the Rio Magdalena. We were hoping to see some of the Escobar Hippos, but sadly there was none. Bit we found a

In Puerto Serviez we asked if it's safe to camp, and settled close to a football field.

They already told, it will be a game later, but we were still a bit surprised how many people came.

So Tobi made food with many hungry spectators. Luckily we bought enough food, so they could also try 🤪

La Piedra del Peñol is a giant rock, that you can climb up with stairs. I think it was over 700 steps.
They give you every 50 steps an update about how many you already did, but when we were close to the top, i forgot to check 🥵🤣

From the top you have a very awesome view over a beautiful lake.
Of course we wanted to camp somewhere around there 😉

We drove a little around and found the Vertedero Santa Rita, a dam and asked the guards if they mind us to camp close by.
No problem, and in the morning we even got invited from Jairo to a coffee☕😃

We found it by accident 😜
When you want to leave the city towards the east (Conexión vial Aburrá - Oriente), there is a tunnel that is not allowed to drive with a motorcycle. So we drove up a mountain in the North (Via Santa Elena).
There was no traffic and it's a nice winding road with very pretty views 😍

The area around Salento is known for the findings

The area around Salento is known for the findings of Colombias Nationaltree the Quindío Waxpalm.

They grown in an altitude of above 3000m what is quite special for palms and reach a height of up to 70m. So they are often higher than the normal forest, what looks a bit cool 😍

We drove a very awesome, but also a bit bumpy road from Cajamarca over the mountains to Salento, and they were everywhere 😃

After we spend some days in very rainy areas again

After we spend some days in very rainy areas again, we decided it's time for a holiday in the desert 😃🌵

We visited the Tatacoa Desert seven years ago, and that time there was one campsite only. Nowadays there is one campsite with pool after the other, so we were a bit shocked, and drove a bit further, to reach a less populated area to pitch our tent.

And it didn't rain that night 😃😃

On the way from Popayán towards the Tatacoa Deser

On the way from Popayán towards the Tatacoa Desert you can drive through the beautiful Puracé Nationalpark.

If you only use the road, you don't need to pay any entrance fee, and as you can see on the pictures, the weather was not really good anyway, so unfortunately we couldn't see any vulcanos 😕

But Tobi got to change my tire in rain, so that was a plus 🤪
I make sure, that his skin doesn't dry out, and he looks young and healthy 😃😃🥳

The Trampoline de la Muerte is the Colombian death

The Trampoline de la Muerte is the Colombian death road. It's a ca. 80km long, winding road between Pasto and Mocoa.

It's very busy, so it can happen that you come around a corner, and a truck is heading full speed towards you 😬

We read in the internet, that they alternate the days of the direction to drive, but when we were there traffic went into both directions 🤷‍♀️ no idea if it was our turn 🤣🤪
